    Atualmente, a ind{\'u}stria da constru{\c c}{\~a}o {\'e} um dos principais setores europeus respons{\'a}veis ​​pelos elevados n{\'\i}veis de consumo de energia, extra{\c c}{\~a}o de mat{\'e}rias-primas e produ{\c c}{\~a}o de res{\'\i}duos. Cada vez mais o consumo de energia proveniente de fontes renov{\'a}veis ​​e a reutiliza{\c c}{\~a}o de res{\'\i}duos industriais constituem a {\'u}nica maneira de minimizar este problema para o meio ambiente e sociedade. A incorpora{\c c}{\~a}o simult{\^a}nea de materiais de mudan{\c c}a de fase (PCM) e cinzas volantes (FA) em argamassas permite aumentar a efici{\^e}ncia energ{\'e}tica nos edif{\'\i}cios e diminuir a quantidade de extra{\c c}{\~a}o de mat{\'e}rias-primas e de res{\'\i}duos depositados em aterro. O desenvolvimento de argamassas com incorpora{\c c}{\~a}o de PCM e cinzas volantes contribui para uma melhoria significativa dos par{\^a}metros de conforto no interior de edif{\'\i}cios e do meio ambiente. O PCM permite regular a temperatura no interior dos edif{\'\i}cios utilizando como recurso apenas energia solar, diminuindo as necessidades de utiliza{\c c}{\~a}o de equipamentos de climatiza{\c c}{\~a}o. O PCM possui a capacidade de absorver e liberar energia para o meio ambiente. O principal objetivo deste trabalho consistiu na caracteriza{\c c}{\~a}o f{\'\i}sica, mec{\^a}nica e t{\'e}rmica de argamassas com incorpora{\c c}{\~a}o de PCM e FA. Foi poss{\'\i}vel concluir que a incorpora{\c c}{\~a}o simult{\^a}nea de PCM e FA permitiu obter argamassas homog{\^e}neas e adequadas, com boas propriedades f{\'\i}sicas e mec{\^a}nicas e um comportamento t{\'e}rmico melhorado quando comparadas {\`a}s argamassas sem incorpora{\c c}{\~a}o e apenas com incorpora{\c c}{\~a}o de PCM.

    About CTAC

    The Centre for Territory, Environment and Construction (CTAC) is a research unit of the School of Engineering of University of Minho (UMinho), recognised by the “FCT – Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia” (Foundation for Science and Technology), associated to the Department of Civil Engineering (DEC), with whom it shares resources and namely human resources.

    Currently CTAC aggregates 25 researchers holding a PhD of which 20 are faculty professors of the Civil Engineering Department. Read more
