    O uso de cinzas volantes no bet{\~a}o tem desempenhado um papel importante na redu{\c c}{\~a}o do cl{\'\i}nquer e, consequentemente, na redu{\c c}{\~a}o da pegada ecol{\'o}gica referente {\`a} ind{\'u}stria do bet{\~a}o. No entanto, ainda persistem diversos desafios, pois apenas s{\~a}o utilizadas entre 30 a 40\% das cinzas volantes dispon{\'\i}veis mundialmente. Um destes desafios {\'e} a quantifica{\c c}{\~a}o da sua reatividade. Tradicionalmente, o potencial reativo das cinzas volantes {\'e} determinado pela sua composi{\c c}{\~a}o em {\'o}xidos, que n{\~a}o tem em considera{\c c}{\~a}o o r{\'a}cio entre a fase v{\'\i}trea e a fase cristalina. De facto, a um maior teor de determinados {\'o}xidos, tais como o di{\'o}xido de sil{\'\i}cio, {\'o}xido de alum{\'\i}nio ou sesqui{\'o}xido de ferro, entre outros, n{\~a}o representa, per si, uma maior reatividade. Tamb{\'e}m, o potencial reativo pode ser quantificado pelo {\'\i}ndice de atividade por resist{\^e}ncias mec{\^a}nicas ou pelo m{\'e}todo de Chapelle modificado, mas s{\~a}o baseados num determinado desempenho e n{\~a}o na sua constitui{\c c}{\~a}o intr{\'\i}nseca. Este artigo descreve uma metodologia de dissolu{\c c}{\~a}o seletiva, com {\'a}cido fluor{\'\i}drico, para quantificar a fase v{\'\i}trea (reativa) e a fase cristalina (n{\~a}o reativa). Foram usadas cinzas volantes da central termoel{\'e}trica do Pego e confrontaram-se os resultados com outros tipos de an{\'a}lises, tais como, FRX, XRD com refinamento de Rietveld e SEM. Validou-se a metodologia, para uma concentra{\c c}{\~a}o de {\'a}cido fluor{\'\i}drico de 1\% com um tempo de exposi{\c c}{\~a}o de 6 horas.

    The Centre for Territory, Environment and Construction (CTAC) is a research unit of the School of Engineering of University of Minho (UMinho), recognised by the “FCT – Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia” (Foundation for Science and Technology), associated to the Department of Civil Engineering (DEC), with whom it shares resources and namely human resources.
