    A condi{\c c}{\~a}o superficial do pavimento {\'e} um fator importante para a avalia{\c c}{\~a}o da seguran{\c c}a vi{\'a}ria por caracterizar diretamente os n{\'\i}veis de atrito, que condicionam as frenagens veiculares. No intuito de padronizar os diversos indicadores de ader{\^e}ncia, desenvolveu-se o International Friction Index (IFI). O principal objetivo deste m{\'e}todo {\'e} quantificar o atrito superficial, reportando-o como um {\'\i}ndice em escala que possa ser utilizado internacionalmente. Neste contexto, o presente estudo tem como objetivo avaliar a ader{\^e}ncia pneu-pavimento para diferentes tipos de pavimentos utilizados no Brasil. Para isso, consolidou-se um extenso banco de dados, obtidos a partir da revis{\~a}o da literatura, de microtextura e de macrotextura, englobando aproximadamente dez t{\'e}cnicas diferentes de pavimenta{\c c}{\~a}o. Desta an{\'a}lise, obtiveram-se curvas que correlacionam coeficiente de atrito e a velocidade, observando-se a preponder{\^a}ncia da macrotextura do material no desempenho da ader{\^e}ncia pneu-pavimento.

    About CTAC

    The Centre for Territory, Environment and Construction (CTAC) is a research unit of the School of Engineering of University of Minho (UMinho), recognised by the “FCT – Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia” (Foundation for Science and Technology), associated to the Department of Civil Engineering (DEC), with whom it shares resources and namely human resources.

    Currently CTAC aggregates 25 researchers holding a PhD of which 20 are faculty professors of the Civil Engineering Department. Read more
