    A reabilita{\c c}{\~a}o energ{\'e}tica tem ganho notoriedade devido aos requisitos impostos pela
    Comiss{\~a}o Europeia e pelo Parlamento Europeu, relacionados com a efici{\^e}ncia energ{\'e}tica,
    bem como pela consci{\^e}ncia do impacto da produ{\c c}{\~a}o e transporte de energia nas altera{\c c}{\~o}es
    clim{\'a}ticas.
    A melhoria do desempenho energ{\'e}tico dos edif{\'\i}cios permite utilizar a energia de modo
    mais eficiente e reduzir os gases com efeito de estufa, para al{\'e}m de melhorar as condi{\c c}{\~o}es de
    conforto do utilizador.
    O intuito do trabalho foi avaliar o potencial de reabilita{\c c}{\~a}o energ{\'e}tica de alguns
    edif{\'\i}cios residenciais, constru{\'\i}dos antes de 1990, data da entrada em vigor da primeira
    regulamenta{\c c}{\~a}o t{\'e}rmica.
    O estudo incluiu quatro edif{\'\i}cios, os quais foram caracterizados em termos de
    desempenho energ{\'e}tico e analisados em rela{\c c}{\~a}o {\`a} incorpora{\c c}{\~a}o de medidas de reabilita{\c c}{\~a}o
    energ{\'e}tica numa perspetiva de otimiza{\c c}{\~a}o da rela{\c c}{\~a}o custo/benef{\'\i}cio.
    Os resultados mostram que {\'e} poss{\'\i}vel reduzir os consumos de energia e os respetivos
    desperd{\'\i}cios, melhorando as condi{\c c}{\~o}es de conforto, com recupera{\c c}{\~a}o do investimento
    realizado num per{\'\i}odo relativamente curto.

    The Centre for Territory, Environment and Construction (CTAC) is a research unit of the School of Engineering of University of Minho (UMinho), recognised by the “FCT – Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia” (Foundation for Science and Technology), associated to the Department of Civil Engineering (DEC), with whom it shares resources and namely human resources.

    Currently CTAC aggregates 25 researchers holding a PhD of which 20 are faculty professors of the Civil Engineering Department. Read more
