    Atendendo a que as carater{\'\i}sticas estruturais e superficiais dos pavimentos rodovi{\'a}rios influenciam o consumo de combust{\'\i}vel dos ve{\'\i}culos, foi desenvolvido um equipamento que pretende determinar as diferen{\c c}as de consumo de energia imput{\'a}veis {\`a} circula{\c c}{\~a}o em pavimentos com diferentes carater{\'\i}sticas superficiais, de forma a avaliar solu{\c c}{\~o}es mais sustent{\'a}veis que permitam reduzir os custos para os utentes devido ao consumo de combust{\'\i}vel. Para al{\'e}m disso, o equipamento permitir{\'a} ainda avaliar a resist{\^e}ncia {\`a} desagrega{\c c}{\~a}o. Neste sentido, este equipamento apoiar{\'a} a sele{\c c}{\~a}o de misturas betuminosas ou de processos construtivos, demonstrando os resultados at{\'e} agora obtidos que este tem grande potencial para ser utilizado duma forma mais generalizada, conseguindo ser sens{\'\i}vel {\`a}s altera{\c c}{\~o}es das caracter{\'\i}sticas superficiais das misturas utilizadas nos pavimentos e que influenciam a resist{\^e}ncia ao rolamento.

    About CTAC

    The Centre for Territory, Environment and Construction (CTAC) is a research unit of the School of Engineering of University of Minho (UMinho), recognised by the “FCT – Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia” (Foundation for Science and Technology), associated to the Department of Civil Engineering (DEC), with whom it shares resources and namely human resources.

    Currently CTAC aggregates 24 researchers holding a PhD of which 20 are faculty professors of the Civil Engineering Department. Read more
