    Os ensaios acelerados de pavimentos rodovi{\'a}rios consistem na aplica{\c c}{\~a}o controlada de um carregamento vertical, atrav{\'e}s de uma roda normalizada que circula a uma velocidade controlada, simulando as cargas reais introduzidas pelo tr{\'a}fego pesado. Em condi{\c c}{\~o}es de temperatura e humidade controladas, os ensaios acelerados permitem simular num per{\'\i}odo de tempo reduzido as a{\c c}{\~o}es a que um pavimento est{\'a} sujeito ao longo da sua vida {\'u}til. No {\^a}mbito do Projeto Tropical-PAV foi constru{\'\i}da no LNEC uma pista de ensaios {\`a} escala real e instalado um Simulador de Ensaios Acelerados sobre Pavimentos Rodovi{\'a}rios possibilitando o estudo e a valida{\c c}{\~a}o de t{\'e}cnicas de constru{\c c}{\~a}o e/ou reabilita{\c c}{\~a}o de pavimentos rodovi{\'a}rios. No presente trabalho {\'e} feita uma apresenta{\c c}{\~a}o geral dos ensaios acelerados sobre pavimentos rodovi{\'a}rios e em particular do Projeto de I\&D Tropical-PAV.

    About CTAC

    The Centre for Territory, Environment and Construction (CTAC) is a research unit of the School of Engineering of University of Minho (UMinho), recognised by the “FCT – Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia” (Foundation for Science and Technology), associated to the Department of Civil Engineering (DEC), with whom it shares resources and namely human resources.

    Currently CTAC aggregates 25 researchers holding a PhD of which 20 are faculty professors of the Civil Engineering Department. Read more
