    Algumas empresas do setor da constru{\c c}{\~a}o que integram a Plataforma Tecnol{\'o}gica Portuguesa da Constru{\c c}{\~a}o (PTPC) decidiram promover a coopera{\c c}{\~a}o tecnol{\'o}gica entre si e com as entidades do Sistema Cient{\'\i}fico e Tecnol{\'o}gico Nacional (SCTN) para o desenvolvimento de novas solu{\c c}{\~o}es de pavimenta{\c c}{\~a}o rodovi{\'a}ria para aplica{\c c}{\~a}o em pa{\'\i}ses de clima tropical, nomeadamente ao n{\'\i}vel das misturas betuminosas e das camadas de solo-cimento.

    O objetivo do projeto foi permitir a eventual cria{\c c}{\~a}o de uma solu{\c c}{\~a}o de pavimenta{\c c}{\~a}o inovadora atrav{\'e}s do desenvolvimento de uma mistura betuminosa e de uma mistura de solo-cimento formuladas com base em ensaios emp{\'\i}ricos e de desempenho, {\`a} escala laboratorial e, posteriormente, validando esse desempenho num ensaio {\`a} escala real recorrendo a uma Pista de Ensaios Acelerados de Pavimentos, onde foram aplicados carregamentos id{\^e}nticos {\`a}s solicita{\c c}{\~o}es que ser{\~a}o alvo ao longo do seu per{\'\i}odo de vida {\'u}til. Esta Pista de Ensaios Acelerados de Pavimentos constru{\'\i}da no {\^a}mbito deste projeto integra um prot{\'o}tipo de um simulador de tr{\'a}fego, que reproduz a simula{\c c}{\~a}o do tipo de solicita{\c c}{\~a}o a que um pavimento habitualmente est{\'a} sujeito.

    About CTAC

    The Centre for Territory, Environment and Construction (CTAC) is a research unit of the School of Engineering of University of Minho (UMinho), recognised by the “FCT – Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia” (Foundation for Science and Technology), associated to the Department of Civil Engineering (DEC), with whom it shares resources and namely human resources.

    Currently CTAC aggregates 25 researchers holding a PhD of which 20 are faculty professors of the Civil Engineering Department. Read more
