    O objetivo principal deste artigo {\'e} apresentar um sistema de monitoriza{\c c}{\~a}o ambiental urbano e estudar a sua poss{\'\i}vel integra{\c c}{\~a}o numa rede de smart city. As diferentes fases de desenvolvimento do sistema s{\~a}o abordadas, desde a sua constru{\c c}{\~a}o, modo de opera{\c c}{\~a}o e partilha dos dados obtidos. O projeto designado SMMART Vila Real (Sistema Municipal de Monitoriza{\c c}{\~a}o do Ar, Ru{\'\i}do e Tr{\'a}fego) {\'e} constitu{\'\i}do por uma unidade m{\'o}vel de monitoriza{\c c}{\~a}o de par{\^a}metros ambientais (ru{\'\i}do, part{\'\i}culas em suspens{\~a}o e par{\^a}metros meteorol{\'o}gicos), um centro de an{\'a}lise e tratamento de dados e uma plataforma web de informa{\c c}{\~a}o ao p{\'u}blico essencialmente sobre par{\^a}metros de qualidade ambiental urbana. Neste projeto o munic{\'\i}pio aceitou o desafio de desenvolver uma plataforma onde a popula{\c c}{\~a}o consegue obter informa{\c c}{\~o}es sobre a qualidade ambiental urbana da sua cidade. No final, o projeto demonstrou ser capaz de cumprir os objetivos propostos e de ser bem aceite pelo munic{\'\i}pio e pela popula{\c c}{\~a}o.

    About CTAC

    The Centre for Territory, Environment and Construction (CTAC) is a research unit of the School of Engineering of University of Minho (UMinho), recognised by the “FCT – Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia” (Foundation for Science and Technology), associated to the Department of Civil Engineering (DEC), with whom it shares resources and namely human resources.

    Currently CTAC aggregates 24 researchers holding a PhD of which 20 are faculty professors of the Civil Engineering Department. Read more
