    Este artigo descreve um estudo experimental da eros{\~a}o localizada originada a jusante de um descarregador de\ soleira delgada, frontal, vertical, ventilado e sem contrac{\c c}{\~a}o lateral. O jacto descarregado incidia num colch{\~a}o de\ {\'a}gua, sendo o leito constitu{\'\i}do por uma areia natural com 0,38 mm de di{\^a}metro m{\'e}dio. Efectuaram-se ensaios\ para alturas de {\'a}gua a jusante do descarregador entre 4,8 e 14,5 cm e caudais entre 4 e 10 m3h-1. Optou-se por\ desenvolver um m{\'e}todo simples de visualiza{\c c}{\~a}o e caracteriza{\c c}{\~a}o de cavidades de eros{\~a}o. Recorreu-se {\`a}\ filmagem, atrav{\'e}s de uma c{\^a}mara de v{\'\i}deo digital (Sony HDR-XR105E Full HD 1080), e posterior an{\'a}lise das\ imagens que se mostrou manifestamente suficiente para o pretendido, possibilitando a obten{\c c}{\~a}o da evolu{\c c}{\~a}o\ temporal do perfil do leito de sedimentos a jusante do descarregador. Observa-se que, para o mesmo caudal\ descarregado, a cavidade de eros{\~a}o evolui mais rapidamente para menores alturas de {\'a}gua a jusante do\ descarregador. Mantendo a altura de {\'a}gua a jusante do descarregador, observa-se que a m{\'a}xima profundidade da\ cavidade de eros{\~a}o ocorre para o m{\'a}ximo caudal descarregado.

    The Centre for Territory, Environment and Construction (CTAC) is a research unit of the School of Engineering of University of Minho (UMinho), recognised by the “FCT – Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia” (Foundation for Science and Technology), associated to the Department of Civil Engineering (DEC), with whom it shares resources and namely human resources.
