    Face ao aparecimento de contaminantes emergentes e altos custos associados {\`a}s novas
    tecnologias de remo{\c c}{\~a}o destes contaminantes e mat{\'e}ria org{\^a}nica natural (MON), {\'e}
    necess{\'a}rio e essencial o desenvolvimento de tecnologias de tratamento igualmente
    eficientes, ambientalmente mais sustent{\'a}veis e de baixo custo. Deste modo, o presente
    artigo tem como principal objetivo o desenvolvimento e avalia{\c c}{\~a}o da efici{\^e}ncia de t{\'e}cnicas
    de oxida{\c c}{\~a}o avan{\c c}ada na remo{\c c}{\~a}o de MON, baseada na utiliza{\c c}{\~a}o de nanopart{\'\i}culas de
    di{\'o}xido de tit{\^a}nio (TiO2) imobilizadas. S{\~a}o condensados resultados quantitativos e
    qualitativos de ensaios de fotocat{\'a}lise heterog{\'e}nea (FH) com TiO2imobilizado e suspenso
    de {\'a}gua de alimenta{\c c}{\~a}o {\`a} ETA de Areias de Vilar. {\'E} documentada a rela{\c c}{\~a}o entre a MON e
    a absorv{\^a}ncia atrav{\'e}s de curvas de calibra{\c c}{\~a}o. Apresenta-se ainda uma an{\'a}lise
    comparativa entre os tr{\^e}s processos de oxida{\c c}{\~a}o avan{\c c}ada (FH com TiO2suspenso,
    imobilizado e pr{\'e}-ozoniza{\c c}{\~a}o) que permitiu aferir o potencial de oxida{\c c}{\~a}o de MON do
    sistema fotocatal{\'\i}tico heterog{\'e}neo com TiO2imobilizado. O estudo realizado {\'e} um contributo
    na evolu{\c c}{\~a}o e otimiza{\c c}{\~a}o do sistema fotocatal{\'\i}tico com TiO2imobilizado, podendo mesmo
    se tratar futuramente de uma etapa de tratamento (principal ou complementar) econ{\'o}mica,
    sustent{\'a}vel e eficaz com aplicabilidade em ETA.

    The Centre for Territory, Environment and Construction (CTAC) is a research unit of the School of Engineering of University of Minho (UMinho), recognised by the “FCT – Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia” (Foundation for Science and Technology), associated to the Department of Civil Engineering (DEC), with whom it shares resources and namely human resources.
