    No passado, a promo{\c c}{\~a}o dos modos ativos centrou-se na constru{\c c}{\~a}o, infraestruturas pedonais e cicl{\'a}veis, mas n{\~a}o foi suficiente, na maioria das cidades portuguesas, onde o uso dos autom{\'o}veis, mesmo para viagens curtas, {\'e} maior do que qualquer outro modo de transporte. Neste trabalho pretende-se apresentar um modelo para gerar as rotas, alternativas {\`a}s rotas convencionais, para andar a p{\'e} e de bicicleta, considerando o potencial impacto do ru{\'\i}do e da polui{\c c}{\~a}o do ar das {\'a}reas urbanas e deste modo reduzir o n{\'\i}vel de exposi{\c c}{\~a}o e risco de desenvolvimento de doen{\c c}as respirat{\'o}rias e cardiovasculares, com o objetivo de melhor a sa{\'u}de das pessoas e consequentemente tornar as cidades mais saud{\'a}veis. O modelo permite calcular menos ruidosas, menos polu{\'\i}das ou uma combina{\c c}{\~a}o das duas, dando origem {\`a}s rotas mais saud{\'a}veis. De modo a avaliar e validar o modelo s{\~a}o apresentados dois {\'\i}ndices ambientais para todas as rotas e {\'e} realizada uma compara{\c c}{\~a}o com os valores associados {\`a} rota mais curta. Para concluir apresenta-se uma aplica{\c c}{\~a}o do modelo a uma {\'a}rea central da cidade de Braga, localizada no norte de Portugal.

    About CTAC

    The Centre for Territory, Environment and Construction (CTAC) is a research unit of the School of Engineering of University of Minho (UMinho), recognised by the “FCT – Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia” (Foundation for Science and Technology), associated to the Department of Civil Engineering (DEC), with whom it shares resources and namely human resources.

    Currently CTAC aggregates 25 researchers holding a PhD of which 20 are faculty professors of the Civil Engineering Department. Read more
