    O crescente volume de incorpora{\c c}{\~a}o de cinzas volantes como substitui{\c c}{\~a}o do cimento
    poder{\'a} ser um ve{\'\i}culo para produzir um bet{\~a}o mais ecol{\'o}gico e eficiente. No entanto,
    a tecnologia atual n{\~a}o permite que este tipo de bet{\~a}o seja realmente eficaz, pois a sua
    resist{\^e}ncia {\`a} carbonata{\c c}{\~a}o poder{\'a} ser menor. Al{\'e}m disso, a tend{\^e}ncia demogr{\'a}fica
    para as popula{\c c}{\~o}es aglomerarem-se em meios cada vez mais urbanos e
    industrializados, proporciona um ambiente cada vez mais agressivo e exigente para as
    estruturas de bet{\~a}o. Aborda-se uma metodologia para a mitiga{\c c}{\~a}o deste problema,
    adicionando hidr{\'o}xido de c{\'a}lcio na composi{\c c}{\~a}o do bet{\~a}o. Neste contexto
    desenvolveu-se uma campanha experimental em argamassas com o objetivo de
    caracterizar a resist{\^e}ncia {\`a} compress{\~a}o e {\`a} carbonata{\c c}{\~a}o. Os resultados sugerem que
    esta tecnologia pode ser aplicada no bet{\~a}o de modo vantajoso.

    About CTAC

    The Centre for Territory, Environment and Construction (CTAC) is a research unit of the School of Engineering of University of Minho (UMinho), recognised by the “FCT – Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia” (Foundation for Science and Technology), associated to the Department of Civil Engineering (DEC), with whom it shares resources and namely human resources.

    Currently CTAC aggregates 37 researchers holding a PhD of which 27 are faculty professors of the Civil Engineering Department. Read more
