    Este trabalho apresenta alguns projetos desenvolvidos pela presente equipa de investiga{\c c}{\~a}o relativos ao desenvolvimento de novos materiais para aplica{\c c}{\~a}o em pavimentos rodovi{\'a}rios, utilizando res{\'\i}duos que podem ser valorizados como uma nova mat{\'e}ria-prima. Desta nova abordagem devem resultar pavimentos betuminosos com melhor desempenho, conjugando ainda vantagens ecol{\'o}gicas e econ{\'o}micas. Assim, apresentam-se tr{\^e}s estudos distintos: o primeiro focado na substitui{\c c}{\~a}o parcial de betume por bio-{\'o}leo proveniente da pir{\'o}lise r{\'a}pida de res{\'\i}duos de materiais org{\^a}nicos, modificado com granulado de borracha de pneus usados; o segundo consiste na utiliza{\c c}{\~a}o de res{\'\i}duos pl{\'a}sticos para produ{\c c}{\~a}o de ligantes modificados, em vez de pol{\'\i}meros virgens, para melhorar o desempenho dos pavimentos; o terceiro tamb{\'e}m utiliza um res{\'\i}duo pl{\'a}stico, mas tem como principal objetivo explorar a substitui{\c c}{\~a}o de parte do betume por outro res{\'\i}duo, o {\'o}leo de motor usado. Neste trabalho s{\~a}o apresentados os principais resultados de desempenho das misturas betuminosas produzidas com estes novos ligantes mais sustent{\'a}veis.

    The Centre for Territory, Environment and Construction (CTAC) is a research unit of the School of Engineering of University of Minho (UMinho), recognised by the “FCT – Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia” (Foundation for Science and Technology), associated to the Department of Civil Engineering (DEC), with whom it shares resources and namely human resources.

    Currently CTAC aggregates 25 researchers holding a PhD of which 20 are faculty professors of the Civil Engineering Department. Read more
