    Este artigo pretende apenas dar um contributo, assinalando alguns exemplos em que se
    tem vindo a trabalhar e que refletem o uso de tecnologias avan{\c c}adas na formula{\c c}{\~a}o e funcionalidade
    de materiais de constru{\c c}{\~a}o tradicionais. Um exemplo claro {\'e} o uso de aditivos que induzem novas
    fun{\c c}{\~o}es e que muitos deles pertencem ao grupo denominado como nanomateriais. A sua adi{\c c}{\~a}o
    coloca quase sempre problemas de incorpora{\c c}{\~a}o e que requerem um trabalho de ajuste das
    formula{\c c}{\~o}es e comportamentos no estado fresco ou endurecido. Este trabalho de investiga{\c c}{\~a}o {\'e}
    muitas vezes essencial para a otimiza{\c c}{\~a}o das fun{\c c}{\~o}es que se pretendem que os materiais de
    constru{\c c}{\~a}o venham a demonstrar.
    Neste grupo de investiga{\c c}{\~a}o, resultante da coopera{\c c}{\~a}o entre centros de I\&D e empresas em projetos
    de colabora{\c c}{\~a}o diversos ao longo dos {\'u}ltimos anos, tem-se vindo a focar na introdu{\c c}{\~a}o de novas
    fun{\c c}{\~o}es em materiais de constru{\c c}{\~a}o tradicionais, para que ganhem um papel ativo em dom{\'\i}nios
    como o do conforto t{\'e}rmico ou da qualidade ambiental, dois pilares essenciais para uma constru{\c c}{\~a}o
    mais sustent{\'a}vel.

    About CTAC

    The Centre for Territory, Environment and Construction (CTAC) is a research unit of the School of Engineering of University of Minho (UMinho), recognised by the “FCT – Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia” (Foundation for Science and Technology), associated to the Department of Civil Engineering (DEC), with whom it shares resources and namely human resources.

    Currently CTAC aggregates 25 researchers holding a PhD of which 20 are faculty professors of the Civil Engineering Department. Read more
