    O sector dos edif{\'\i}cios {\'e} um dos maiores consumidores de energia a n{\'\i}vel global e consequentemente representa um forte contributo para as emiss{\~o}es de gases com efeito de estufa, pelo que a redu{\c c}{\~a}o desse consumo bem como a utiliza{\c c}{\~a}o de energia proveniente de fontes renov{\'a}veis constituem neste sector medidas importantes e necess{\'a}rias para mitigar os efeitos das altera{\c c}{\~o}es clim{\'a}ticas. Essa redu{\c c}{\~a}o ter{\'a} de incidir sobre os edif{\'\i}cios existentes quando sujeitos a obras de reabilita{\c c}{\~a}o, uma vez que apenas com a atua{\c c}{\~a}o sobre os edif{\'\i}cios novos, levaria demasiado tempo at{\'e} se obterem impactos relevantes face ao reduzido ritmo de substitui{\c c}{\~a}o do parque edificado. A concretiza{\c c}{\~a}o do potencial de poupan{\c c}a de energia nos edif{\'\i}cios existentes depende da combina{\c c}{\~a}o de medidas de efici{\^e}ncia energ{\'e}tica e de gera{\c c}{\~a}o de energia de fontes renov{\'a}veis que, para al{\'e}m de garantirem os objectivos energ{\'e}ticos e ambientais estabelecidos, o consigam com o melhor compromisso entre o custo de investimento e o custo de utiliza{\c c}{\~a}o do edif{\'\i}cio ao longo do seu tempo de vida. O presente artigo apresenta uma metodologia para a determina{\c c}{\~a}o das solu{\c c}{\~o}es de reabilita{\c c}{\~a}o de custo {\'o}timo, ou seja, das solu{\c c}{\~o}es que apresentem o menor custo considerando o investimento na opera{\c c}{\~a}o de reabilita{\c c}{\~a}o e os custos de utiliza{\c c}{\~a}o do edif{\'\i}cio ao longo do seu ciclo de vida, e demonstra a aplica{\c c}{\~a}o dessa metodologia num edif{\'\i}cio residencial caracter{\'\i}stico do parque edificado de Portugal.

    About CTAC

    The Centre for Territory, Environment and Construction (CTAC) is a research unit of the School of Engineering of University of Minho (UMinho), recognised by the “FCT – Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia” (Foundation for Science and Technology), associated to the Department of Civil Engineering (DEC), with whom it shares resources and namely human resources.

    Currently CTAC aggregates 37 researchers holding a PhD of which 27 are faculty professors of the Civil Engineering Department. Read more
