    O patrim{\'o}nio em bet{\~a}o aparente, grande parte constru{\'\i}do no s{\'e}culo vinte com um crescente reconhecimento do seu valor e da import{\^a}ncia da sua preserva{\c c}{\~a}o, {\'e} suscet{\'\i}vel {\`a}s agress{\~o}es por graffiti. O bet{\~a}o {\'e} um material poroso, por vezes deteriorado ao longo dos anos, e as intera{\c c}{\~o}es das tintas com o substrato e os m{\'e}todos de remo{\c c}{\~a}o alteram a superf{\'\i}cie do bet{\~a}o, principalmente se {\'e} necess{\'a}rio repetir o processo de remo{\c c}{\~a}o. Os produtos de prote{\c c}{\~a}o aos graffiti, dispon{\'\i}veis no mercado, quando aplicados na superf{\'\i}cie do bet{\~a}o facilitam a remo{\c c}{\~a}o das pinturas, dificultando a sua ader{\^e}ncia {\`a} superf{\'\i}cie ou impedindo a sua penetra{\c c}{\~a}o nos poros do bet{\~a}o. Considerando que a durabilidade do bet{\~a}o armado depende principalmente da sua composi{\c c}{\~a}o e das caracter{\'\i}sticas da sua superf{\'\i}cie, {\'e} fundamental conhecer quais os efeitos dos sistemas de prote{\c c}{\~a}o aos graffiti na durabilidade do bet{\~a}o e contribuir para uma metodologia adequada {\`a} preserva{\c c}{\~a}o deste patrim{\'o}nio. Neste sentido, desenvolveu-se um programa experimental para an{\'a}lise das altera{\c c}{\~o}es das propriedades que protegem o bet{\~a}o dos mecanismos de deteriora{\c c}{\~a}o, antes e ap{\'o}s o tratamento com os produtos de prote{\c c}{\~a}o antigraffiti, com a prote{\c c}{\~a}o antigraffiti e os graffiti e ap{\'o}s a remo{\c c}{\~a}o dos graffiti, sendo os produtos de prote{\c c}{\~a}o aplicados do tipo permanente e sacrificial. Os resultados obtidos dos ensaios de absor{\c c}{\~a}o de {\'a}gua por capilaridade e por imers{\~a}o {\`a} press{\~a}o atmosf{\'e}rica mostram que a prote{\c c}{\~a}o aos graffiti diminui a entrada de {\'a}gua para o interior do bet{\~a}o e facilita a remo{\c c}{\~a}o dos graffiti sem afetar as caracter{\'\i}sticas da superf{\'\i}cie, contribuindo para melhorar a sua durabilidade.

    About CTAC

    The Centre for Territory, Environment and Construction (CTAC) is a research unit of the School of Engineering of University of Minho (UMinho), recognised by the “FCT – Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia” (Foundation for Science and Technology), associated to the Department of Civil Engineering (DEC), with whom it shares resources and namely human resources.
