    	abstract = {Em termos energ{\'e}ticos, o consumo de energia no sector dos edif{\'\i}cios representa 22\% da energia final consumida em Portugal. Apesar de estar longe dos 40\% da m{\'e}dia comunit{\'a}ria, este consumo tem aumentado preocupantemente a uma taxa de 7.5\% ao ano. O consumo de energia nos edif{\'\i}cios aumentou 31\% na {\'u}ltima d{\'e}cada. Este n{\'u}mero corresponde a um consumo de energia (e {\`a} consequente emiss{\~a}o de CO2) equivalente a 3.5 milh{\~o}es de toneladas de petr{\'o}leo. Um dos actuais objectivos da Comiss{\~a}o Europeia consiste em, at{\'e} 2010, reduzir em 20\% o consumo de energia prim{\'a}ria no parque habitacional urbano. O comportamento energ{\'e}tico dos edif{\'\i}cios urbanos torna-se, deste modo, um alvo de an{\'a}lise e de interven{\c c}{\~a}o priorit{\'a}rio. Grande parte dos factores que afectam o comportamento energ{\'e}tico dos edif{\'\i}cios est{\'a} directamente relacionada com o "layout" urbano adoptado em cada cidade. O modo como os edif{\'\i}cios s{\~a}o implantados no terreno e a pr{\'o}pria forma do edif{\'\i}cio, t{\^e}m consequ{\^e}ncias energ{\'e}ticas significativas para as quais os t{\'e}cnicos t{\^e}m que estar alertados. {\'E} neste sentido que surge este trabalho numa tentativa de fornecer aos t{\'e}cnicos do planeamento urbano elementos que permitam fazer uma an{\'a}lise objectiva das consequ{\^e}ncias energ{\'e}ticas das diversas op{\c c}{\~o}es tomadas.},

    About CTAC

    The Centre for Territory, Environment and Construction (CTAC) is a research unit of the School of Engineering of University of Minho (UMinho), recognised by the “FCT – Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia” (Foundation for Science and Technology), associated to the Department of Civil Engineering (DEC), with whom it shares resources and namely human resources.

    Currently CTAC aggregates 25 researchers holding a PhD of which 20 are faculty professors of the Civil Engineering Department. Read more
