The Symposium is dedicated to themes relevant to ancient, traditional and cultural technologies of water and wastewater globally, since the prehistoric era. This unique event aims to promote interactions, to motivate discussions and to encourage collaborations among the global community on water, wastewater and stormwater management. Information about ancient technologies of water and sanitation in various civilizations, which enhance durable engineering practices and water management, are crucial to develop present and future technologies.
This Symposium will bring together research scientists, historians, archaeologists, and engineers from academic institutions and industries around the world. It will present the major achievements in several scientific fields of water and sanitation technologies and management throughout the millennia. In addition, it will provide valuable insights into those technologies with their apparent characteristics of durability, adaptability to the environment, and sustainability. These technologies are the underpinning of modern achievements in water, wastewater and stormwater management practices.
We strongly believe that you will enjoy the Symposium and that your participation will contribute to your professional enhancement.
We are looking forward seeing you all in Coimbra next year for identifying what we could learn from the past and to prove that the past is the key for the future.
