    4ª Conferência Internacional WASTES: Solutions, Treatments and Opportunities

    Entre 25 e 26 de Setembro de 2017 decorrerá a 4ª edição da Conferência Internacional WASTES: Solutions, Treatments and Opportunities.

    Organizada desde 2011 pelo CVR – Centro para a Valorização de Resíduos, a Wastes associa-se em 2017 à Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto, que é simultaneamente coorganizadora e anfitriã do evento.

    A Wastes 2017 pretende oferecer aos participantes um espaço privilegiado e de referência para a apresentação, esclarecimento, debate e permuta de ideias centrado nas exigências, mudanças, desafios, soluções e oportunidades que se colocam ao setor do Ambiente, com especial enfoque na gestão de resíduos numa economia circular.

    O programa do evento contempla a realização de sessões plenárias por oradores convidados e de sessões paralelas de natureza técnica e científica, de autores nacionais e internacionais. Estas sessões serão subordinadas, mas não restritas, aos seguintes temas: resíduos enquanto materiais de construção, resíduos como combustíveis, tecnologias de tratamento de resíduos, gestão de resíduos sólidos urbanos, reciclagem e recuperação de materiais, resíduos de novos materiais, aspetos ambientais, económicos e sociais da gestão de resíduos e economia circular.

    Aos autores é oferecida a possibilidade de apresentarem um artigo curto ou longo, sob a forma de apresentação oral ou poster. Em consonância com a edição de 2015, os artigos longos serão publicados num livro editado pela CRC Press - Taylor & Francis Group e submetido à Scopus para indexação, enquanto os artigos curtos serão incluídos no Book of Proceedings da conferência.

    Dear Colleague,

     

    We are pleased to invite you to participate in the 4th edition of the International Conference WASTES: Solutions, Treatments and Opportunities, that will take place in FEUP - Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto, Porto, Portugal, between 25th and 26th of September, 2017.

    Wastes 2017 is a joint organization of CVR - Centre for Waste Valorization and FEUP and once again aims at bringing together experts from the Waste Management and Recycling sectors from around the world, offering state of the art knowledge and sharing experiences.

    The Conference is organized, but not restricted, to the following topics: Wastes as construction materials; Wastes as fuels; Waste treatment technologies; MSW management; Recycling of wastes and materials recovery; Wastes from new materials (nanomaterials, electronics, composites, etc.); Environmental, economic and social aspects in waste management and Circular economy.

    Authors are invited to submit their contribution as full or short papers and, likewise the 2015 edition, all full papers accepted will be included in a book published by CRC Press – Taylor& Francis Group, that will be proposed to Scopus for indexing, while the short papers accepted will be included in the Book of Proceedings of the Conference (with ISSN).

    About CTAC

    The Centre for Territory, Environment and Construction (CTAC) is a research unit of the School of Engineering of University of Minho (UMinho), recognised by the “FCT – Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia” (Foundation for Science and Technology), associated to the Department of Civil Engineering (DEC), with whom it shares resources and namely human resources.

    Currently CTAC aggregates 24 researchers holding a PhD of which 20 are faculty professors of the Civil Engineering Department. Read more
