    3rd International Conference WASTES: Solutions, Treatments, Opportunities

     

    The 3rd edition of the International Conference WASTES: Solutions, Treatments and Opportunities will take place in Viana do Castelo, a beautiful city surrounded by green mountains, the serenity of the Lima River and the intense blue of the Atlantic Ocean.

     

    Last Call for Full Papers - 27 April 2015

    All the Full papers accepted will be included in a book published by CRC Press – Taylor & Francis Group, that will be proposed to Scopus and Thomson Reuters for indexing.

    Call for Short Papers - 1 June 2015

    Short papers accepted will be included in the Book of Proceedings of the Conference (with ISSN).

     
     
    In the 2015 edition all authors with accepted papers will have the opportunity to publish their work. All the Full papers accepted will be included in a book published by CRC Press – Taylor & Francis Group, that will be proposed to Scopus and Thomson Reuters for indexing, while the Short papers accepted will be included in the Book of Proceedings of the Conference (with ISSN).

    WELCOME

    On behalf of the Organizing Committee we would like to welcome you to the 3rd edition of the International Conference WASTES: Solutions, Treatments and Opportunities.

    This year WASTES: Solutions, Treatments and Opportunities is associated with the 9th International Technical Conference on Waste and both events will take place in the Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo, between 14 and 16 of September, a joint organization of CVR (Centre for Waste Valorisation) and APESB (Portuguese Association of Sanitary and Environment Engineering), national Member of the International Solid Waste Association (ISWA).

    In fact, in 2015, participants will have the opportunity to experience both conferences, choosing sessions according with their interests, either in a more academic or technical perspective. Only one registration is required to attend both events.

    These events expect to bring together experts from the Waste Management and Recycling sectors from around the world, offering state of the art knowledge and sharing experiences. Discussions regarding the balance between economic, environmental and social outcomes will be carefully addressed. The development of innovative techniques, tools and strategies to improve corporate environmental performance, the understanding of how industry activities impact on the environment and the options analysis for its improvement are key objectives of these conferences.

    We are looking forward to welcoming you in September 2015, in the beautiful city of Viana do Castelo.

    About CTAC

    The Centre for Territory, Environment and Construction (CTAC) is a research unit of the School of Engineering of University of Minho (UMinho), recognised by the “FCT – Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia” (Foundation for Science and Technology), associated to the Department of Civil Engineering (DEC), with whom it shares resources and namely human resources.

    Currently CTAC aggregates 24 researchers holding a PhD of which 20 are faculty professors of the Civil Engineering Department. Read more
